A Legal Workforce
Hiring a professional, competent, high-integrity and legal workforce is not for the faint of heart in the landscaping business. It’s no secret that many landscaping companies today hire illegal workers. What many clients don’t realize is the liability those illegal workers bring to the worksite. Hiring illegal workers is a criminal offense. If you hire a company that hires illegal workers, you could be putting yourself and your company at risk.
U.S. and state laws requires companies to employ only those who may legally work in the United States – either U.S. citizens or foreign citizens who have proper authorization. Some states, such as Missouri (RMS 585.530), have very strict laws that prohibit companies from subcontracting illegal workers as well. And, the penalties can be harsh.
At Top Care, we’re proud of our licensed, professional and legal workforce, so you can feel safe and secure when you hire us. To ensure all Top Care employees are legal workers, we use a government-run verification system called E-Verify. E-Verify is a web-based system that allows businesses to voluntarily check and make sure every employee is legally permitted to work in the United States. We also conduct extensive background checks. For added security, our drivers must have proper vehicle registration certification, be 21 years of age (most companies only require drivers to be 18 years old), without substance abuse driving infractions.
When looking for a landscaping company, protect your interests by making sure the company you hire employs a legal workforce.
“The strength of Top Care is their ability to respond quickly to requests from the university, whether it is a routine or emergency request, for grounds maintenance service.”
